When Jianhui was working at London’s markets, he’d come across boxes of discarded things that he’d rework into a design. Occasionally, he’d find small baubles, crystals and pearls, which he continues to use to this day. As a symbol of their status, Chinese royalty wore pearls for thousands of years and traditionally viewed them as feminine. By using them in a new way, Jianhui‘s designs with pearls are edgy and urban. Worn as one strand, these necklaces are dainty, but worn as multiple strands, they feel more rugged. Our designs are flexible and open to someone’s stylistic interpretation.
